Better known as WOW's!
This group is for the beginner, someone returning to the game, or a seasoned golfer.
Each spring, after joining the Greenbriar Woodlands Golf Association (GWGA), we start our league of Women only. There is a WOW league fee and this is what you are qualified to receive:
Eligibility to play one appointed day a week.Your choice of either the front or back nine with a chance to win $$MONEY$$, playing a different format each week (most are handicap based).
Four meetings where you meet with the other WOW's and enjoy food and coffee. Our first meeting is a breakfast meeting, usually late April, before the season starts. We hold monthly meetings after a 9 hole round.
An opportunity to participate in a charitable tournament and win prizes. A first class luncheon at the end of the season.
I have heard people say "I am not good enough to play on the WOW's" but the handicaps of the ladies range from 5 to 20 on the front, 8 to 35 on the back for a total of 15 to 53. So you can see anyone is good enough to play with the WOW's. I hope this has sparked your interest. If you have any questions feel free to call any of our officers.
